Mid September 2010 - Chinese plants in flower

Below are photos of a few of my Chinese plants in flower. I apologise for the poor quality of the photos. The reason being that these plants grow in a shadehouse with a green glass fibre roof which make it extremely difficult to photograph these plants. Normal white light only enters from the sides. The colours in the photos are thus not 100% accurate.

A few red clivia flowers at the beginning of the flowering season

Below are a few photos of shades of red at the beginning of the 2010 flowering season. I have used a colour chart to demonstrate the colour shades which is not always 100% effective, because of the reflection of light from the smooth surface, while the flowers absorb most of the light. The second reason I use the colour chart is to give you an indication of the size of the flowers. Look at the different shapes of the petals and flowers which is an indication of the breeding background. Red pollinated with red does not mean the offspring will necessary be red flowers.
